Don't Worry A Bit

I try, I really do. Every Sunday night I try to psyche myself out for the next day, but it hardly works. Mondays are just rough. Rougher than sandpaper on a cat's tongue. No one likes Monday. While Friday and Saturday are out on the town with their cool friends with new cars and parties to go to, Monday is at home at 10pm reading the newest issue of "Cat Lady Monthly". Monday should just kill itself now. You however, shouldn't. Here are some things that help me get over the uphill battle that starts off the week:

1. Start off the day with something you look forward to. Whether this be eating your favorite breakfast food to delicately balancing three large book on your head while ironing that gem sweater with a squirrel on it your great aunt Gertrude though was an awesome birthday gift, but in all reality it's just a reminder of how much she sucks. Do what makes you happy.

2. Schedule yourself. Make sure the day goes as smooth as possible. No one likes to have to interrupt a pleasant match of bad-mitten to suddenly rush off, forfeit, and leave your opponent bewildered as to why you so suddenly had to return that copy of Soul Plane to Blockbuster. (As if anyone actually rents DVDs anymore.)

3. Drink tons of coffee, but be prepared to spend a nice chunk of your least favorite day in my least favorite place: the bathroom. Coffee makes you pee. ALOT. But it will give you energy and uplift your attitude. Just don't end up being that person that everyone hates for their oozing pep. Seriously, check yourself.

4. Take a nap. You'll crash after all those errands from tip #2 that you neglected and then the resulting caffeine crash from tip #3. Don't judge me I planned this. Taking a nap will refresh you and give you the motivation to finish the day out strong. Just don't fall asleep in your car while parked in the driveway like I did today. What...?

5. Finally, never attempt to face a Monday without one of the worlds greatest weapons: music. It has the power to make Monday fun. Here are some songs to help you through Monday:
Anything from the 90's-00's, especially those songs that come on and make you go, "HOLD UP THATS MY JAM" as you swerve over three lanes while reaching to turn the volume up in your car. Not that I know that from personal experience. Basically my advice is to go for guilty pleasures. Even if someone hears you they'll be too pre-occupied with their own crappy day to notice your cheesy music selection. Give them a stop-light concert.

There you go. We hate Monday, and Monday hates us. Just try to make it fun.
