Solo

This morning I woke up at 6am (SMITBH) to go do construction work in Frisco for Habitat For Humanity. We are building a house for a nice lady, her son, and her two moms. You read that right. Anyways. I spent 5 hours 10ft in the air painting a house lavender and white. After I got home from that I slept from 1-5pm and woke up to find my phone BUZZING with texts. After sorting out my plans for the night I ended up running downtown to see the opening of a show at the Dallas Contemporary Gallery. Mind Blown.

Ruben Nieto
Cindy Santos Bravo
Jen Rose
Needless to say I had a good night. After that I browsed the local papers to see what, if any, events were coming up that caught my eye. The winner? Midget Wrestling.

After the show they were handing out fragrance samples of "Shameless Redneck Idiot" by Calvin Klein.

Thats about it. I hope you're all doing well.

SHOUT OUT TO MY HOMELESS PEEPS

Nighty McTwocurls checking himself out

Dear Nighty,
How's it hanging (literally)? Did you find enough cans today? I noticed you got some new shoes and a cute new top. Something was missing though... Oh! That's right! PANTS. WHERE ARE YOUR PANTS? OR AT LEAST UNDERWEAR. All Shae and I were trying to do was enjoy a nice sandwich at Hunky's and all the sudden: FLASHED. Seriously. The boys were out to play. We were in shock. It was all around good times. Anyways, hope this letter finds you in good health.

Friday31

We obviously like music way too much. I, for one, like free music. Here's some linky goodness:
Chemical Jump
Stoney Roads
RCRDLBL
Pretty Much Amazing
White Folks Get Crunk
Chrome Music

These are my favorites. If you haven't done this before...Just right click on the song link on each respective website, and you can download the link for free to your laptop.
Also, we are not responsible for the content of any website we link to on here. If they have something offensive on their site, complain to them. Just saying.

I'm ready for winter. I'm ready for jacket weather and apple cider. I'm ready for freezing snow and dying leaves. I'm ready for jumping into ice cold cars, fumbling to turn on the heater. I'm ready for big warm blankets and campfires. I'm ready for summer to leave, and for the year's prettiest season to begin. I feel time slipping through my fingers like water. Sometimes I wish it would just stop and crystallize on my palms, reminding me of time past and things done, but then it melts and washes away. I'm ready to go.

Confessions

Confession #1: I've played Rihanna's new song Only Girl (in the world) about 17 times now. I don't care what you think, the song is good. In addition the new Trey Songz album is out, and while I can only handle so much smooth talking slow-jammyness, there are a couple songs that make steam rise right up out of my speakers. Then we've got the new Teengirl Fantasy album which is perfect for background study/work music. Oh, and a little bit of Rah Digga for the rap crowd, and a new MF Doom live album which is way too long even though I like most of his stuff. Enough about music.

Confession #2: I had Rice Kitchen for dinner. I always feel HORRIBLE about eating there but I just can't stay away sometimes. I mean when you can get a literal mountain of chicken fried rice, an egg roll, and a large drink for 14$, you know you've found a gem. It's right next to Oliver's (WHICH I HATE), and really close to the Starbucks by Krogers on Frankford.
Confession #3: I ran 3 stop signs today. NO ONE WAS THERE WHAT AM I STOPPING FOR. Don't judge me. I got a 100% on my physical driving exam, and I've never been in a wreck. Subtract the 2 tickets and I've got a perfect record. They seriously need to review alot of the traffic laws and ammend some of the dumb ones.

Confession #4: I keep my room at 68 degrees because I want it to be winter already. Enough of this muggy, humid, soggy, steaming, blistery, moist insane weather. Bring on the jackets, dead leaves, snow, and apple cider. Seriously Earth, stop kidding yourself into thinking this weather is cutting it.

Don't Worry A Bit

I try, I really do. Every Sunday night I try to psyche myself out for the next day, but it hardly works. Mondays are just rough. Rougher than sandpaper on a cat's tongue. No one likes Monday. While Friday and Saturday are out on the town with their cool friends with new cars and parties to go to, Monday is at home at 10pm reading the newest issue of "Cat Lady Monthly". Monday should just kill itself now. You however, shouldn't. Here are some things that help me get over the uphill battle that starts off the week:

1. Start off the day with something you look forward to. Whether this be eating your favorite breakfast food to delicately balancing three large book on your head while ironing that gem sweater with a squirrel on it your great aunt Gertrude though was an awesome birthday gift, but in all reality it's just a reminder of how much she sucks. Do what makes you happy.

2. Schedule yourself. Make sure the day goes as smooth as possible. No one likes to have to interrupt a pleasant match of bad-mitten to suddenly rush off, forfeit, and leave your opponent bewildered as to why you so suddenly had to return that copy of Soul Plane to Blockbuster. (As if anyone actually rents DVDs anymore.)

3. Drink tons of coffee, but be prepared to spend a nice chunk of your least favorite day in my least favorite place: the bathroom. Coffee makes you pee. ALOT. But it will give you energy and uplift your attitude. Just don't end up being that person that everyone hates for their oozing pep. Seriously, check yourself.

4. Take a nap. You'll crash after all those errands from tip #2 that you neglected and then the resulting caffeine crash from tip #3. Don't judge me I planned this. Taking a nap will refresh you and give you the motivation to finish the day out strong. Just don't fall asleep in your car while parked in the driveway like I did today. What...?

5. Finally, never attempt to face a Monday without one of the worlds greatest weapons: music. It has the power to make Monday fun. Here are some songs to help you through Monday:
Anything from the 90's-00's, especially those songs that come on and make you go, "HOLD UP THATS MY JAM" as you swerve over three lanes while reaching to turn the volume up in your car. Not that I know that from personal experience. Basically my advice is to go for guilty pleasures. Even if someone hears you they'll be too pre-occupied with their own crappy day to notice your cheesy music selection. Give them a stop-light concert.

There you go. We hate Monday, and Monday hates us. Just try to make it fun.
